People that want desktop icons are gonna have them one way or another, not including this option will just give them more hard work. These are the same mistakes made by Gnome Shell.

There will be someone that forks elementary OS and adds this option, do we really want to have 5+ distros with pantheon for a goddamn option to enable desktop icons ?
The options don't have to be ON by default, they just have to be there so Elementary OS would work for all users.
